Ms. Blackwell graduated with honors from Florida State University College of Law in 2006 with a Juris Doctor degree.  During law school, Ms. Blackwell worked in the Eminent Domain Bureau of the Florida Attorney General’s Office as a law clerk.

Ms. Blackwell was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2006.  In October 2006, she joined Nelson Hesse, LLP as an associate. Her practice focuses on transactional work for local government and private enterprises, as well as general business and corporate law, real estate law and entertainment law. 

Ms. Blackwell is a member of the American Bar Association and the Sarasota County Bar Association.  She is also a member of the Florida Bar’s Business Law Division, the Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law division, and the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law division.

Ms. Blackwell is an active member of Sarasota Baptist Church.

Ms. Blackwell is a Florida native and was born in Seminole in 1980.  She attended the College of William and Mary in Virginia as a Monroe Scholar, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 2003.
